Small Pregnancy Scare

We had our first pregnancy scare this weekend. I began having contractions at only 28 weeks pregnant. I was told to lie down for all of Sunday, and I was checked out on Monday. It was determined that I am not in pre-term labor, but I am trying to do too much stuff. So now I am being told to drink more water, eat more protein, and get more rest. When Clark naps, it is doctor's orders for me to lie down as well. After two days of following this, it is amazing at how much better I feel. I just did not realize I was over doing it, but it looks like everything is back on track.

Easter Egg-stravaganza

On Saturday, Clark, Nana, and I went to the Easter Egg-stravaganza sponsored by Bo-Jangles. Clark had lots of fun. He enjoyed the fire truck more than anything. He got really excited about seeing the Easter bunny, but the pictures do not show his excitement. The Bo-Jangles chicken scared him to death, and he cried every time he saw the chicken. He got to do the Easter Egg hunt for the three and under kids. It was just a bunch of eggs thrown on the ground. He would not put them in his basket, but he thought it was fun to pick them up and throw them in the air.

Spring Break

So Spring Break this year was fantastic. I headed down to SC to help train our new trip leading staff. We spent time at Paris Mtn (biking/trailwork), Crowders Mtn (climbing/rappeling), the Broad and Lower Green River (paddling). The students learned a ton and I had a blast being outside. Here are a couple of pics from the training.

Weekend of Work

So Sunday was the first day that I have made actual forward progress on the house. I put the first coat of ceiling paint on the kitchen, living room, office, bathroom and nursery ceilings. This was after the fiasco of taking off all of the wallpaper in those rooms and then sanding off the old paint. I think that it looks pretty good and I am excited to make some forward progress on the paint this week. Hopefully Ill be able to make some good strides in the evenings because my weekends are already booked for the next 3 weeks and we plan on moving in on the 24th!!!

Big Boy

Friday was the first nice day we have had in a while. So Clark and I took advantage of it and went to the Biltmore House gardens and a local park. At the Biltmore house, we got to ride a bus to the gardens. Clark was the most excited bus passenger by far. And he also might have been the only one that blew kisses to each bus and clapped at the stops! So sweet and innocent. After his nap and before dinner, we headed out the local park. Clark had lots of fun chasing his ball around. He also got his first skinned knee. He totally just shook it off, so it was no big deal to him. Here is a great picture of Clark in one of his new Spring outfits.

House part III

So went to the house last night to remove a little bit of wall paper. Little bit being the operative term. I got cocky when the stuff just fell off the walls in the kitchen then I went to Clark's room... I think the people before us used epoxy or some sort NASA type glue because the stuff will not come off. I am hoping that the gallons of chemicals that I sprayed on our nursery walls will coax the stuff off. I'll find out Friday when I go back to work on it. Until then!

Almost Forgot

The place is less than 3 miles from Bent Creek Experimental Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Two amazing places to ride bikes!!! It also has a HUGE shop on the lower part of the property and the house sits on 1.2 acres. Cant wait for some of you all to see it.

Home Owners!!!

Its official. Bec and I have bought a home! We are super excited about getting moved into the place, however, we are going to take some time to clean up the place and get it ready for our arrival. Some things we are planning.

1) Fresh Interior Paint
2) Waxing the floors
3) Pulling the Ivy of the house
4) Pressure washing everything
5) Removing all the wall paper
6) Etc. etc. etc.

A huge thanks to my dad for holding our hands through the whole process. His wisdom was huge in getting us comfortably into a place that fits our families needs. Thanks DAD!!! Anyways, we will get some pics and details up soon.

Week in Maryville

Since Nolan was going to be out of town all week for a Spring Break trip, Clark and I went to Maryville for a week. We had one day of just awesome weather, and Clark and I go to play barefoot outside. Clark had a blast playing with Uncle Josh and the mower. Josh would run away with it or chase Clark with it, and Clark would just crack up. Clark's language also really took off this week. For the first time ever, he used a phrase saying, "I want water." He has also seemed to forgive Aunt Mandy for fussing at him last year.

DuPont Hike

The whole family got up early on Saturday to go for a hike at DuPont State Forest. We hiked to Triple Falls and High Falls. After the hike we hit up some Zaxby's for lunch and then went home for a nice 2 hour nap.
